Allan MacDonell is the author of ‘Prisoner of X: 20 Years in the Hole at Hustler Magazine’ (Feral House, 2006) and ‘Punk Elegies: True Tales of Death Trip Kids, Wrongful Sex, and Trial by Angel Dust’ (Rare Bird, 2015). Mr. MacDonell was a defining voice of the groundbreaking punk periodical ‘Slash’ magazine. While writing for ‘Slash,’ he also co-invented slam-dancing. MacDonell lives in Los Angeles.
Evan Wright is a contributing editor for Rolling Stone magazine. He spent two months living with a platoon of Marine reconnaissance soldiers during the war in Iraq.
